Smile the secret of beauty

Is the title of today's inspirational message

A child told the mother: "Mum you are very
beautiful today."
Replied the mother: "Why?"
The child said: “Because you did not get angry
today.”
Moral of the story:
1. It is easy to possess beauty: - do not get angry.
2. Anger is temporary madness

GLORY OF DIAMOND

Is the title of today's inspirational message

There was a farmer in Africa who was happy and
content. He was happy because he was content.
He was content because he was happy. One day a
wise man came to him and told him about the
glory of diamonds and the power that goes along
with them. The wise man said, “If you had a
diamond the size of your thumb, you could have
your own city. If you had a diamond the size of
your fist, you could probably own your own
country.” And then he went away.
That night the farmer couldn't sleep. He was
unhappy and he was discontent. He was unhappy
because he was discontent and discontent
because he was unhappy. The next morning he
made arrangements to sell off his farm, took care
of his family and went in search of diamonds.
.
He looked all over Africa and couldn't find any. He
looked all through Europe and couldn't find any.
When he got to Spain, he was emotionally,
physically and financially broke. He got so
disheartened that he threw himself into the
Barcelona River and committed suicide.
.
Back home, the person who had bought his farm
was watering the camels at a stream that ran
through the farm. Across the stream, the rays of
the morning sun hit a stone and made it sparkle
like a rainbow. He thought it would look good on
the mantle piece. He picked up the stone and put
it in the living room. That afternoon the wise man
came and saw the stone sparkling. He asked, “Is
Hafiz back?” The new owner said, “No, why do you
ask?” The wise man said, “Because that is a
diamond. I recognize one when I see one.”
.
The man said, no, that's just a stone I picked up
from the stream. Come, I'll show you. There are
many more.” They went and picked some samples
and sent them for analysis. Sure enough, the
stones were diamonds. They found that the farm
was indeed covered with acres and acres of
diamonds.
What is the moral of this story? There are five
morals:
1. When our attitude is right, we realize that we
are all walking on acres and acres of diamonds.
Opportunity is always under our feet. We don't
have to go anywhere. All we need to do is
recognize it.
2. The grass on the other side always looks
greener.
3. While we are dyeing the grass on the other
side, there are others who are dyeing the grass on
our side. They would be happy to trade places
with us.
4. When people don't know how to recognize
opportunity, they complain of noise when it
knocks.
5. The same opportunity never knocks twice. The
next one may be better or worse, but it is never
the same one.

Unconditional Love!

Is the title of today's inspirational message

A story i read on some website

long ago and  i am sharing with you. I don't
have any idea about the original author
Unconditional Love !!!
I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and
have recently completed my college
degree. The last class I had to take was
Sociology. The teacher was absolutely
inspiring with the qualities that I wish
every human being had been graced with.
Her last project of the term was called
"Smile". The class was asked to go out and
smile at three people and document their
reaction.
I am a very friendly person and always
smile at everyone and say hello
anyway.....so, I thought, this would be a
piece of cake (literally).
Soon after we were assigned the project,
my husband, youngest son, and I went
out to McDonalds, one crisp March
morning. It was just our way of sharing
special play time with our son.
We were standing in line, waiting to be
served, when all of a sudden everyone
around us began to back away, and then
even my husband did. I did not move an
inch...an overwhelming feeling of panic
welled up inside of me as I turned to see
why they had moved.
As I turned around I smelled a horrible
"dirty body" smell...and there standing
behind me were two poor homeless men.
As I looked down at the short gentleman,
close to me, he was "smiling"...his
beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's
Light as he searched for acceptance.
He said, "Good day" as he counted the
few coins he had been clutching. The
second man fumbled with his hands as he
stood behind his friend. I realized the
second man was mentally deficient and
the blue eyed gentle man was his
salvation. I held my tears......as I stood
there with them.
The young lady at the counter asked him
what they wanted. He said, "Coffee is all
Miss" because that was all they could
afford (to sit in the restaurant and warm
up they had to buy something...they just
wanted to be warm).
Then I really felt it...the compulsion was
so great I almost reached out and
embraced the little man with the blue
eyes. That is when I noticed all eyes in the
restaurant were set on me...judging my
every action. I smiled and asked the
young lady behind the counter to give me
two more breakfast meals on a separate
tray. I then walked around the corner to
the table that the men had chosen as a
resting spot.
I put the tray on the table and laid my
hand on the blue eyed gentleman's cold
hand. He looked up at me, with tears in
his eyes, and said, "Thank you". I leaned
over, began to pat his hand and said, "I
did not do this for you...God is here
working through me to give you hope". I
started to cry as I walked away to join my
husband and son. When I sat down my
husband smiled at me and said, "That is
why God gave you to me honey....to give
me hope". We held hands for a moment
and at that time we knew that only
because of the Grace were we able to
give .....
We are not church goers but we are
believers. That day showed me the pure
Light of God's sweet love.
I returned to college, on the last evening
of class, with this story in hand. I turned
in "my project" and the instructor read
it....then she looked up at me and said,
"Can I share this?" I slowly nodded as she
got the attention of the class. She began
to read and that is when I knew that we
as human beings (part of God) share this
need to heal.
In my own way I had touched the people
at McDonalds, my husband, son,
instructor, and every soul that shared the
classroom on the last night I spent as a
college student. I Graduated with one of
the biggest lessons I would ever
learn....unconditional acceptance......after
all....we are here to learn!

Letter To The Editor

Is the title of today's inspirational message

A 'devotee' goer wrote a letter to the editor of a
newspaper and
complained that it made no sense to go to the
Temple .
'I've gone for 30 years now, he wrote, and in that
time I have heard
something like 3,000 mantras.
But for the life of me, I can't remember a single
one of them. So, I
think I'm wasting my time and the Gurus are
wasting theirs by giving
services at all.
This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to
the Editor' column,
much to the delight of the editor. It went on for
weeks until someone
wrote this clincher: I've been married for 30 years
now. In that time my
wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the
life of me, I cannot
recall the entire menu for a single one of those
meals. But I do know
this... They all nourished me and gave me the
strength I needed to do my
work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I
would be physically
dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to the
Temple for nourishment, I
would be spiritually dead today!
When you are DOWN to nothing.... God is UP to
something! Faith sees the
invisible, believes the incredible and receives the
impossible!
Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual
nourishment!

The Christmas Present!

Is the title of today's inspirational message

There is a story told of  a man who
punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a
roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and
he became infuriated when the child tried to
decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree.
Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her
father the next morning and said, "This is for you,
Daddy."
The man was embarrassed by his earlier
overreaction, but his anger flared again when he
found out the box was empty. He yelled at her,
stating, "Don't you know, when you give someone
a present, there is supposed to be something
inside? The little girl looked up at him with tears in
her eyes and cried, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty at
all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you,
Daddy." The father was crushed. He put his arms
around his little girl, and he begged for her
forgiveness.
Only a short time later, an accident took the life of
the child. It is also told that her father kept that
gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever
he was discouraged, he would take out an
imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child
who had put it there.
In a very real sense, each one of us, as humans
beings, have been given a gold container filled
with unconditional love and kisses... from our
children, family members, friends, and God. There
is simply no other possession, anyone could hold,
more precious than this.

Be Kind

Is the title of today's inspirational message

On his deathbed,Aldous Huxley reflected on his
entire life's learning and then summed it up in
seven simple words

"let us be kinder to one another ".

All too often we believe that in order to
live a truly fulfilling life we must achieve some
great act or grand feat that will put us on the front
covers of magazines and newspapers. Nothing
could be further from the truth. A meaningful life is
made up of a series of daily acts of decency &
kindness which adds up to something great over
the course of a lifetime.
Everyone who enters your life has a lesson to
teach & a story to tell. Every person you pass
during the moments that make up your days
represents an opportunity to show a little more of
the compassion & courtesy that defines your
humanity. Why not start being more of the person
you truly are during your days & doing what you
can to enrich the world around you????? In my
mind, If you make even one person smile during
your day or brighten the mood of even one
stranger , your day has been a worthwhile one.
" kindness quite simply is the rent we must pay
for the space we occupy on this planet
"
Become more creative in the ways you show
compassion to strangers. Paying the toll for the
person in the car behind you , offering your seat
on the subway and being the first to say hello are
great places to start.

Respond Don't React

Is the title of today's inspirational message.

Suddenly, a cockroach flew from somewhere and
sat on her. I wondered if this was the cockroach’s
response to all the glory that was spoken about it!
She started screaming out of fear. With panic
stricken face and trembling voice, she started
doing jumping, with both her hands desperately
trying to get rid of the cockroach. Her reaction was
contagious, as everyone in her group got cranky to
what was happening. The lady finally managed to
push the cockroach to another lady in the group.
Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group
to continue the drama. The waiter rushed forward
to their rescue. In the relay of throwing, the
cockroach next fell upon the waiter. The waiter
stood firm, composed himself and observed the
behavior of the cockroach on his shirt. When he
was confident enough,
he grabbed and threw it out with his fingers.
Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement,
the antenna of my mind picked up a few thoughts
and started wondering, was the cockroach
responsible for their histrionic behavior? If so, then
why was the waiter not disturbed? He handled it
near to perfection, without any chaos. It is not the
cockroach, but the inability of the ladies to handle
the disturbance caused by the cockroach that
disturbed the ladies.
I realized even in my case then , it is not the
shouting of my father or my boss that disturbs me,
but its my inability to handle the disturbances
caused by their shouting that disturbs me.
It’s not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs
me, but my inability to handle the disturbance
caused by the traffic jam that disturbs me.
More than the problem, it’s my reaction to the
problem that hurts me.
Lessons learnt from the story:
I understood, I should not react in life. I should
always respond.
The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.
Reactions are always instinctive whereas
responses are always intellectual.

Your mindset (1)

Is the title of today's inspirational message.

For the next three days I would be sharing with your the episodes I have titled  'your mindset'

It was Jan Ashford who once said There is no such thing as can’t, only won’t. If
you’re qualified, all it takes is a burning desire to
accomplish, to make a change. Go forward, go
backward. Whatever it takes! But you can’t blame
other people or society in general. It all comes
from your mind. When we do the impossible we
realize we are special people.
Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities!
Without a humble but reasonable confidence in
your own powers you cannot be successful or
happy. Go after what you want.
